Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a setback at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court from March of that year.

Success also indicates Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 various competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, comprising in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led commentators to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.

However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the last five games to go ahead.

Both players exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour title, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

Moutet saved four early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian broke to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
