Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
